Services
Purposeful Accommodation Tools for Homeschoolers empowers homeschool families with struggling learners in the Greater Knoxville area by creating individualized Student Learning Plans, guiding parents through the accommodation approval process for major tests (like the ACT and SAT), and connecting parents with targeted educational curricula and educational professionals to support struggling learners.
We provide homeschool families with struggling learners with the tools they need to meet each child's unique needs through the following core services:
1. Student Learning Plans
We assist in developing comprehensive accommodation plans (similar to a specialized IEP) that document your child’s learning history, strengths, and exact accommodations needed for educational settings and testing.
2. Standardized Testing Accommodations
Navigating application processes for major testing boards can be daunting. We provide step-by-step guidance to help your student secure necessary testing modifications for ACT, SAT, CLT and other standardize tests.
3. Specialized Resources & Curricula
We connect families with multi-sensory and evidence-based materials (such as those for dyslexia or ADHD), educational testing providers, and curricula proven to assist struggling learners.

BIO
Michelle Kirk is a certified teacher and veteran homeschool mom who founded Purposeful Accommodation Tools for Homeschoolers (P.A.T.H.) in July of 2026 with the help of her husband, David Kirk, to provide independent homeschoolers and small umbrella programs who cannot support a full time Accommodation Specialist with the guidance services they need. Due to her experience as a mom with dyslexic children as well as her time as an Academic Advisor and Accommodation Specialist for a homeschool umbrella program, she understands how important it is for homeschoolers with academic or health challenges to have someone help navigate the accommodation request process for national tests like the ACT, SAT, and CLT and give guidance on supportive curricula and resources.
